The occasional, often ill-considered thoughts of a Roman Catholic permanent deacon who is ever grateful to God for his existence. Despite the strangeness we encounter in this life, all the suffering we witness and endure, being is good, so good I am sometimes unable to contain my joy. Deo gratias!

Although I am an ordained deacon of the Catholic Church, the opinions expressed in this blog are my personal opinions. In offering these personal opinions I am not acting as a representative of the Church or any Church organization.

The Hypocritical Chutzpuh of Nancy Pelosi

The hypocrisy of our esteemed Speaker of the House, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), continues to amaze me. Did you hear the latest? She ordered the U. S. bishops to instruct the faithful in the pews that the version of immigration reform supported by Nancy and the Democrats is just what Jesus Christ ordered in the Gospel. That's right, pope-wannabe Nancy actually believes she can tell the bishops what their teaching on moral issues should be, while at the same time consistently ignoring their teaching on moral issues. Sound confusing? It is. If you want to hear her for yourself, just watch the video I've embedded below.

...and did you notice her comment about the "dignity and worth of every person"? Of course, those little unborn babies don't count, do they? And why do Catholic audiences keep inviting this woman to speak?

I could go on and continue to dissect her blatant hypocrisy, but I came across someone who did it much better than I ever could.

Jennifer Hartline wrote an "Open Letter to Nancy Pelosi, Master of Hypocrisy" which was published on Catholic Online. It is well worth reading.

And while you're at it, you might as well read Catholic author Matthew Hanley's column, Our Catholic Barbarians. Published on April 23, before Madame Speaker made the above instructional video for the US bishops, it nevertheless makes some of the same points but from a slightly different perspective.

Pray for Rep. Pelosi. God does work miracles.
